When will Tractive be available?

Tractive is available to order in our Shop with an estimated ship date of early April 2013.

How does Tractive work?

Tractive has a built-in GPS module that constantly calculates its position. In regular intervals, it will upload the position information to the Tractive servers, so users can see the current location of their device. In order to communicate with the Tractive servers and the Tractive mobile apps, Tractive uses an integrated SIM card which uses the standard GSM network and cell towers.

Will Tractive be harmful to my pet?

Tractive uses technology similar to cellphones and therefore is not more or less harmful than taking a pet for a walk with a cellphone in your pocket.

What pets can Tractive be used with?

While Tractive is designed to work well for cats and dogs, there is absolutely no reason why it wouldn’t work with any other pets. Aside from cats and dogs, we have tested Tractive on horses, cows, sheep and donkeys.

I am a retailer and would like to sell Tractive devices and accessories. Are you open to new retailers?

The response to the Tractive pre-announcements was incredible and we received a lot of requests from retailers. However, we are certainly open to discussing potential opportunities with you, just send us an email to sales@tractive.com.

Why do I have to pay a low monthly fee to use Tractive?

Tractive uses SIM cards which use the standard cell phone network. The communication between the Tractive Apps and the Tractive GPS Pet Tracking device requires data to be sent back and forth. However, we here at Tractive are working hard on keeping this fee as low as possible for our customers. Customers will not have to sign a contract, and all payments are pre-paid payments, so customers can decide at any time to stop the service, without any additional costs.

I am having troubles activating my device, who do I contact?

Please contact our customer service team at support@tractive.com and we will try to help you get your Tractive device activated.

Do I need a smartphone to use Tractive?

No, basic features, such as locating your pet are available on www.tractive.com. However, if you do have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you can download the Tractive Apps here: www.tractive.com/apps

Also, starting in March 2013, a version for Android smartphones will be available to all of our customers for free.
